We’re thrilled to announce that Amanda Rawlings has recently joined Calibro as our first-ever Head of Story & Insight – a role that might be called Director of Marketing & Business Development elsewhere, but here, it’s something far more meaningful.
Amanda’s relationship with Calibro began five years ago, when she worked with us as an external marketing consultant. Back then, she played a pivotal role in shaping the brand we see today. Even then, it was clear there was a deep alignment between Amanda’s values and our own – a shared belief in honesty, integrity, and doing things the right way.
Earlier this year, Stuart (our MD) reached out to Amanda to see if she had capacity to support a new rebrand. The business has matured, and with that maturity comes a clearer understanding of the impact we want to make (but shhh….that’s news we’ll be annoucing in the future!). But Amanda, who was then working at Dyson, made it clear: she would only get involved if she could be fully immersed in our culture – not just advising from the outside, but helping shape the inside.
That conversation led to something bigger. Amanda is now part of the Calibro team – not just to help us tell our story, but to help us live it more fully.
Her experience speaks volumes. With a background that includes global brands like Dyson, Superdry, Lloyds Banking Group, Whitbread and Zebra Pens, Amanda brings a wealth of insight. But more than that, her decision to join us says something powerful about the culture we’ve built (and which we are continuing to improve). Attracting someone of Amanda’s calibre is a reflection of the values we live by – values that prioritise people, integrity, and meaningful human interaction.
Amanda’s role is about more than marketing. It’s about telling our story – the real one.
A story that’s rooted in our mission to cultivate sustainable communities, anchored in integrity, excellence, and human interaction. It’s about making sure we don’t just do good work, but that we talk about it in a way that’s honest, human, and inspiring.
In her first few months, Amanda has focused on getting to know the team on a human level – meeting clients, shadowing colleagues, and immersing herself in how we work and why we do what we do. It’s not just about understanding our services – it’s about understanding how our values show up in every interaction, every project, every decision.
Amanda shares:
“Having worked with Stu and the business previously as an external partner looking from the outside in, I always appreciated what it could be like. But having the opportunity to be part of the team and having experienced the culture for a few months, I feel energised and excited about our journey. What I do and who I do it with every day is massively important to me. I need to feel part of something bigger, and part of a team that’s on the same path.”
Stuart adds:
“Amanda has lived and breathed our brand values since working together five years ago. When we spotted a need to spread the news of the good things we’re doing, there wasn’t any hesitation – we had to reach out. However, we never expected we would be so lucky to have the opportunity to bring her into the business where she can not only share our story but also help influence our future impact. She’s ace, and we’re lucky to have her!”
Amanda joins us at a time of exciting growth – as we expand our reach and deepen our impact, she’ll be helping us influence and write about the next chapters of our story.
You’ll therefore hear a lot more from Amanda and the team, now we have the expertise to tell our story properly!
