Heading up the Leeds Office – Patrick’s Northern Journey

Written by:

18 months ago, Patrick came to us with a significant and personal proposition: “Our family would like to relocate to Yorkshire to be closer to home and family.” Our response was clear: Absolutely, let’s make it happen. But this wasn’t just about family. Patrick’s personal aspiration aligned perfectly with Calibro’s strategic ambition to establish a meaningful presence across the North (find out here). It was the moment where lifestyle and professional opportunity aligned, allowing Patrick to step into a leadership role that would help shape Calibro’s next chapter.

Patrick reflects:

“This move brought both my family aspirations and our business objectives together. The North feels like a natural home for our values, and being part of this expansion is something I’m incredibly proud of.”

Why Leeds? Why Now?

Leeds holds a strong place in our long-term vision to strengthen Calibro’s reach along the M62 corridor. It’s a region full of momentum, talent and opportunity, and we believe and want to support the Government’s renewed focus on investment in the North.

Patrick describes it well:

“The North has always felt like a natural fit for Calibro. It’s an area where personal relationships and collaboration matter, and combining that with being closer to family made this move incredibly meaningful for me personally and professionally.”

The North also represents a cultural alignment with who we are. The region is defined by honesty, vibrancy, personality and integrity – qualities that sit at the heart of Calibro’s identity. As more people move to the North in search of a better work/life balance, we see an opportunity to support development in the area through community-driven living. Having a presence here simply makes sense.

Settling In and Setting Up

Patrick and his family have now settled into their new home, new school and new surroundings. Meanwhile, our Leeds office is based in Yorkshire House on Greek Street, a modern and flexible workspace that will help drive our expansion.

It’s the perfect base for building new connections and sharing the Calibro story with new friends.

Patricks Role Across Calibro

While leading the Leeds office, Patrick continues in his central role as Head of Flood Risk & Hydrology across all four regional offices, with support from @kath fuller and the wider team. His technical leadership, sector insight and established relationships remain at the core of how we deliver consistent, high-quality services across the business.

This move has also allowed Patrick to lead the multi service growth of Calibro in the North, shaping our presence across both Leeds and Manchester, strengthening our capability, reach and collaborative model across the region.

“I’m really excited by the challenge of working across both the Leeds and Manchester regions leading the continued expansion of all Calibro’s services in two major northern cities and the wider M62 corridor.”

And with a new Technical Director soon to be announced to lead our Manchester office, Patrick’s collaboration across both cities will be a key part of delivering a joined-up, relationship-driven, values-led presence across the North.

Patrick continues:

“I’m looking forward to working closely with our new Technical Director in Manchester on Transport Planning projects and wider opportunities, as well as introducing all of Calibro’s services to a new audience, helping grow our reputation and vision-led approach across the North.”

What This Means For Calibro

This expansion isn’t just about adding new pins to a map. It’s about bringing authenticity, integrity and meaningful relationships to our new friends in the North,  and doing so in a way that reflects Calibro’s culture.

Our Leeds and Manchester offices are a key visible step in our exciting journey, complementing our Bristol and Southampton offices and creating a stronger, more connected Calibro across the UK.

Stay tuned, the next chapter of our Northern story is just around the corner.
